A lot of people can question if they're experienced enough in order to build a coaching business. And this is the way I like to think about experience. We all went to school and were taught by a variety of people, some that impacted us greatly that we're super grateful for, and other people that were not so great. And it had less to do with the information that they were teaching, but more about the embodiment of it.
And we've all heard somebody ask us to do something that they wouldn't be willing to do or that they haven't done. And so the way that I like to think about is a coach validated or not is if they have lived the experience. I don't care about necessarily how many clients they've worked with. I definitely don't care about how many followers they have on Instagram. I wouldn't be able to check.
I don't have an account. I don't care about how much money they've previously made. I care about the depth at which they care about the people that they're here to serve, and the depth of their own journey that they've gone on to discover these ideas that they're here to share. Because the truth is, you don't write a book in a day, a month, a year. You write a book over the course of a lifetime, and every single day that you've lived before this day was in service of the writing of that book, and you get to leverage all of that in the writing of your book.
And so our best case studies have always been early-stage founders. Yes, I've got to work with some amazing established coaches with millions of followers and been able to have a lot of fun there. But my best case studies have always been from zero, from people who had never sold coaching before or had sold very limited coaching before. I find that they're my favorite people to work with.
They've been more of a blank slate, and so they have less unlearning to do. So we typically see really great results there. And the people who come in with a little bit more experience, and potentially some great skills more than experience, the key skills that they've learned along the way, whether it's in understanding their market or how to sell on Zoom, they just accelerate the journey even further.
