Is The Sales Call Going To Be A Pressure Call?

Is the sales call going to be a pressure call? No. But I want to dive into that a little bit deeper, because the way that I think about selling is selling is service. It's an opportunity to serve somebody. And so the way that we run and teach as well our sales sort of process is based on sort of an understanding of where somebody is, because you can't help them unless you understand where they are.

And we'll have a conversation and see if it's something that we can sort of serve someone with. And if we can, we would love to offer our service and ability to help somebody create the change that they want in their life. A big part of sales is living what you sell. So the standard at which we live is reflected in the way that we sell. In regards to holding people accountable to what they say that they want.

And so if somebody comes into our space and tells us the dreams that they have in their heart, the vision they have for their future, of what they want to create for their life, I have a responsibility to hold them accountable to what they say that they want, to not accept mediocrity, to not accept low standards, because there is nothing more humiliating than being in an environment of low standards.

I went to a few different high schools, I kept getting kicked out of them, and the most depressing room that I've ever sat in in my entire life was when I dropped in my last high school into the lowest sort of rung of not for any sort of credits, just the very basic of what you had to do to be allowed to attend the school. And we sat in this classroom, a bunch of delinquents and a teacher who was just sitting there on their phone, and I never felt more humiliated in my life to be in this classroom.

Not because I didn't like some of the people in there or because there's anything wrong with the room, but because there was absolutely zero expectation of me to be or do anything. There was zero standards. And so when we think about the environment that I want to be shaped by and that I want to shape, and if I think about our sales calls and our space in general, there's an element of high standards because it's out of respect for ourselves and out of respect for our clients that it is a privilege to be held to a highest standard.

So that's not meaning intense pressure-based sales, but it means a congruency between the way that we live and the way that we sell, which means there's a degree of accountability and an expectation that you would step into greatness if that's what you tell us you want. So, yeah.
